2024 Annual Report

"CCS is the best place I could've gone for safety and care. I'm greatly appreciative of the help and love these people shared." -Survivor

Dear Friends,

As we look back on the past year, we deepen our gratitude for our community of caring individuals and partners. Because of you, we have been able to keep hope and healing at the heart of what we do. Each survivor’s journey is unique, and your support ensures that we stay responsive to individual needs and to support their families.

This past year, we have focused on strengthening our programs, eliminating delays, and streamlining services to ensure that trauma-expert counselors are available when clients need them most. We have provided outreach and built partnerships to reach underrepresented communities and those disproportionately experiencing violence. Committed to promoting healthy relationships, Center for Community Solutions forged a partnership with High Tech High and San Diego LGBT Center to infuse prevention-based programming on middle and high school campuses.

On behalf of all of us at Center for Community Solutions, thank you for your unwavering support and commitment to ensuring survivors have a safe place to heal from abuse. We remain steadfast in our commitment to advancing our vision for all people to live full, free, expressive and empowered lives in a safe, vibrant, healthy, and peaceful community.

Sincerely,

Cori Austin, CEO

&

Tracy Skaddan, Board President

Some Highlights

CCS Prevention Services expand, including a new Art Therapy Program

This year, CCS launched an innovative prevention program funded by the Prebys Foundation, harnessing the transformative power of art therapy to engage San Diego youth and young adults. This creative approach helps participants explore healthy relationships, build self-awareness, and develop skills to prevent violence before it starts.

Additionally, government grants allowed us to expand our prevention education efforts in middle and high schools, as well as underserved communities in North County. By equipping young people with the knowledge and tools to recognize and prevent abuse, these programs are shaping a future generation of leaders who will champion respect, empathy, and safety in their relationships and communities. Together, we are investing in a brighter, safer tomorrow for all.

Securing Safe Futures: New Housing Contract Empowers Survivors to Transition to Stability

This year, CCS proudly secured a government housing contract that directly supports survivors transitioning out of our shelter program. This critical funding provides rental assistance and essential resources, ensuring survivors can maintain their safety and rebuild their lives free from violence. By addressing the root causes of housing insecurity for those impacted by relationship abuse, this program also helps reduce the devastating number of San Diegans experiencing homelessness. With your support, we are creating a pathway to stability, safety, and hope for survivors and their families.
