MMA Academy Offering Self-defense Training
Courses During Sexual Assault Awareness Month

On April 12th, 2008 the Krav Maga Official Training Centers in San Diego, in conjunction with local Law Enforcement agencies, is offering all women ages 16 and older a Self Defense training seminar.

Participants will be trained in a combination of Krav Maga with F.A.S.T. Defense padded assailants.

The KRAV MAGA Self Defense Program
Required training for scores of law enforcement agencies nationwide, Krav Maga is recognized as the most efficient self defense system for real-life situations, emphasizing practical defenses against real attacks. Unlike most martial arts that are formal, ritual-oriented, Krav Maga is based on instinctual fight or flight movements and on natural reflexes. There is only one rule in Krav Maga: use everything you've got. Krav Maga's emphasis is on simple movements, allowing people of all ages and fitness levels to learn real self defense.

F.A.S.T. Defense Program
Voted in 2006 as the best Self Defense program for women by Black Belt Magazine, this scenario based system uses padded assailants for realistic attacks allowing the student to deliver FULL-FORCE strikes to the instructors. The student experiences the natural physical and mental effects that adrenaline has on the body. By practicing in this state (“Fight or Flight”) the students learns how to use the benefits and lessen the detriments of the condition. This type of training truly gives the mind set necessary to overcome an attacker.
